Biography
Dr O Hagan joined the Department of Hispanic Studies in 2009, having completed a Ph.D. at Queen’s University Belfast, where she also taught. Her research focuses on representations of America in Spanish Enlightenment literature, with special focus on the Enlightenment disputes over America and the legitimacy of imperial conquest. She has published on major eighteenth-century Spanish writers including José Cadalso, Pedro Montengón and Manuel José Quintana. She teaches on a range of Freshman and Sophister courses including Spanish Enlightenment literature, modern Spanish poetry and prose as well as Spanish language. She also contributes to taught postgraduate courses in the School.
