Biography
I joined Trinity College Dublin in September 2014 as an Assistant Professor in Mathematics Education. Prior to this I qualified as a second level mathematics teacher from the University of Limerick in 2007 and completed a PhD in Mathematics Education, also in the University of Limerick in 2011. I have worked in the National Centre for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching and Learning (NCE-MSTL) and have also co - ordinated the Mathematics Leaning Centre in the University of Limerick. My current research interests lie in promoting student interest and achievement in mathematics through effective teaching of the subject.

I have a wide range of peer reviewed conference proceedings, journal article publications to date reflecting my specialist teaching and research interests in the fields of: - Effective teaching of mathematics - Teaching and learning algebra at second level - Promoting interest in mathematics - Mathematics Support for students in third level - The importance of literacy skills in learning mathematics
