Biography
Graduate of University of Wales (BSc and PhD in Psychology). Appointed to lectureship in psychology at TCD in 1970. Former President of the Psychological Society of Ireland and former Editor of the Irish Journal of Psychology. Former Head of the erstwhile Department of Psychology at TCD and dean of the erstwhile Faculty of Arts (Humanities). Currently Head of the School of Psychology. Fellow of the Psychological Society of Ireland and recipient of the Society's 'Special Award of Merit for an Outstanding Contribution to Psychology'.
Research Interest
Quantitative modelling of memory; information theory, perception and intelligence; animal behaviour and ethology, evolutionary psychology.
