Biography

Nina Bresnihan is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science & Statistics, Trinity College Dublin. She was awarded a BA in English and Legal Science (1993) and an MA in English Literature and Publishing (1995) from the National University of Ireland (NUI) and an M.Sc. in Multimedia Systems (1998) from Trinity College Dublin. She is a Member of the Centre for Research in IT and Education (CRITE) and co-founder with Dr. Richard Millwood of the Computational Thinking for Life (CT4L) research group which is concerned with researching the development of computational thinking across the life course. It's membership includes a full-time academic staff across four schools in TCD, researchers, and postgraduate students as well as representatives from CESI, Coderdojo, Google and Microsoft. She teaches in the areas of research methods, educational technology, multimedia authoring, web design and development, and Interaction Design. Her research interests include Computational Thinking, Computing Education, and Gender and Computing.

Research Interest

I am a member of the Centre for Research in IT and Education (CRITE) and co-founder with Dr Richard Millwood of the Computational Thinking for Life research group. My research interests include Computational Thinking, Computing Education, Maker Culture and Gender and Computing.
