Biography

I am a practicing pharmacist, I split my time between The School and Tallaght Hospital. My research focuses on medication safety at care transitions and the development of the role of the clinical pharmacist. I am involved in delivering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. I collaborate with colleagues in Pharmacy, Medicine, Surgery, General Practice, Nursing and Health Informatics, at a national and international level. I contribute to a number of national committees and steering groups, bringing my expertise in pharmacy practice and medication safety. I have almost 20 years experience in community and hospital pharmacy. My current work combines research, teaching & learning, and clinical practice.

Research Interest

Tamasine Grimes is a registered, practicing pharmacist who divides her time between the School (half-time) and Tallaght Hospital Dublin (half-time). She obtained her PhD in Clinical Pharmacy from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. She conducts applied pharmaceutical care research which has been funded by The Meath Foundation and Tallaght Hospital Dublin. Assoc. Prof. Grimes research interests include clinical pharmacy, medication safety, medication reconciliation, collaborative pharmaceutical care, and pharmacoepidemiology. She is a National Collaborator with the Health Research Board (HRB) Centre for Primary Care Research and acts as a PhD co-supervisor on the HRB Structured Population and Health Services Research Education (SPHeRE) Programme. She collaborates with colleagues in Pharmacy, Medicine, Surgery, General Practice, Nursing and Health Informatics, at a national and international level. Assoc. Prof. Grimes has greater than 15 years experience in community and hospital pharmacy, and her current work combines research, teaching & learning, and clinical practice.
