Biography
Dr Yasser Abdel-Wahab holds an MB. BCh. (1985) from Cairo University, Egypt and a PhD (1993) from Ulster University. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Creighton University, School of Medicine, USA (1994-95) and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Ulster University(1995-2007) before taking up current appointment as Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences in 2007, he was then promoted to Reader in 2013. Dr Abdel-Wahab has over 60 peer-reviewed publications (h-index 25) and has been invited to speak at many national and international conferences and is holder of several patents.
Research Interest
Discovery, targets and action of antidiabetic drugs from natural resources; Antidiabetic actions of structurally modified peptides; Glycation of pancreatic islet peptides and proteins.
