Biography

Tara Moore, Research Director - Biomedical Sciences in School of Biomedical Sciences at Ulster University, Professor Tara Moore, PhD has a wealth of experience of working in Universities and laboratories across UK, Europe and USA focusing on novel diagnosis and treatment for blinding eye diseases.

Research Interest

Biomedical Sciences, Tara’s research team concentrates on gene editing and gene silencing treatments for autosomal dominantly inherited eye diseases. As well as undertaking the role of Research Director for Biomedical Sciences in Ulster University Tara also concurrently holds a Research Director position with Avellino Labs USA which facilitates movement of her research findings to the clinic with rapid clinical translation.  Tara holds a number of patents and her research at Ulster has secured a number of licensing agreements with local, national and international companies including Sisaf, Almac and Avellino Labs USA.
