Biography
Dr. Zhiwei Lin joined the Computer Science Research Institute and School of Computing and Mathematics in Nov 2014. Zhiwei's research interests are in the areas of Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Text Analysis. Zhiwei teaches Advanced Web Technologies at undergraduate level and he is also supervisor for master and PhD students. Dr. Zhiwei Lin received his BSc and MSc both from Fujian Normal University, China. Zhiwei Lin received his doctorate degree from Ulster University, thanks to the VCRS scholarship. From 2001 to 2007, he was an assistant lecturer in the School of Mathematics and Computer Science, Fujian Normal University, China. Zhiwei was a researcher in Business Intelligence in SAP (2011-2012) before he moved to British Sky Broadcasting as data scientist, where he contributed to the intelligent search engine for Sky+ and set-top box. From 2013 to 2014, Zhiwei was a senior member of technical staff in Oracle, working on ATG cloud commerce products.
