Research Interest
research focuses on the area of nanopatterning and synthesis of soft biomaterials. I am currently working on the development of nanostructured and smart materials, including high-resolution block copolymer patterning, structured anti-bacterial coatings to prevent biofouling, and bioresponsive polymer coatings. I am also involved in projects on the development of point-of-care devices, membrane technologies, and novel immobilisation/ conjugation chemistries. Previous materials-based projects include the development of novel hydrogels and polymer patterning techniques, as well as the synthesis of environmentally-friendly chewing gums. My interest in this area stems from my desire to apply my knowledge in synthetic and medicinal chemistry to the biomedical and engineering fields.
