Biography
John graduated from the University of Limerick with a BSc in Physiotherapy (1st Class Honours) in June 2014. He commenced postgraduate research in the department in October 2014. His PhD is funded by the Irish Research Council. He works privately in the area of neurology and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. He also works with hurling and football teams and with several GAA handball players.
Research Interest
John’s research focuses on examining the relationship between the patient and the clinician and its effect on outcome for pain. He is also investigating the mechanisms through which treatment improves pain. His supervisors are Dr. Kieran O’Sullivan and Dr. Karen McCreesh Other research interests include beliefs about pain, neurological treatment and injuries in handball players.
