Biography
Completed a PhD in UCD & Teagasc, Moorepark Dairy Research Centre, Co. Cork. The PhD (Teagasc Walsh Fellowship) in animal nutrition and dairy production systems focussed on the “Evaluation of alternative forages for in-situ utilisation by dry dairy cows over the winter period”. Following his PhD, Dr Keogh worked as a post-doctoral researcher on Teagasc Solohead research farm in conjunction with WIT, conducting research on clover and winter feeding systems. Subsequently, he worked for Ulster Bank as a Agricultural Manager covering the 26 counties of Ireland advising front-line staff on repayment capacity, farm management standards, changes in agricultural legislation, technical assistance and training.
