Biography
Dr Gallagher is a graduate of Queen's University, Belfast where he obtained a BSc in Pure and Applied Physics in 1984. He then did his doctorate at the University of Leeds in a the area of Polymer Physics. His thesis was titled "Mechanical Properties and Morphology of Oriented Polymer Blends". On completing his thesis, Gabriel worked for two years as a Chemical Physicist at BP Research Research Centre in Sunbury-on-Thames. In 1990, he returned to Ireland to take up a position as a Lecturer in Physics at Cork RTC before moving to Waterford RTC (now WIT) in 1991. Since arriving in WIT he has taught on a wide range of courses has been course leader on the HC Glass Technology.

Dr Gallagher has research experience in the field of polymer physics.
