Biography
John Maher trained as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers and Lybrand ( now Pricewaterhousecoopers) in Dublin where experience covered assurance, insolvency, taxation and accounts preparation (1982-88). He Completed secondment to St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands. Joined Irish Life Assurance Plc in 1988 and worked in taxation and management accounting areas. Dealt with tax planning and compliance as well as financial and management reporting. He Worked with colleagues from IT, surveying, investment, legal, accounting, actuarial, customer service and marketing disciplines. Dealt with Irish , UK, French, German, Dutch, and Belgian tax authorities.
