Biography
Louise qualified as a registered general nurse at St James’s Hospital Dublin in 1996. She holds a post graduate diploma in perioperative Nursing (TCD, 2000), MSc in Nursing (TCD, 2010), Certificate in Nurse and Midwife prescribing (RCSI, 2011), a postgraduate diploma in Clinical Health Sciences Education (CHSE) (TCD, 2012) and is undertaking a PhD at Waterford Institute of Technology. Louise is a lecturer in the Department of Nursing and healthcare. She held a number of clinical positions as a Staff Nurse at St James’s Hospital, Dublin, Ryde Hospital, Sydney, Australia, Mater Private Hospital, Dublin, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Crumlin, Strathfield Private Hospital, Sydney, Australia and Wexford General Hospital.
Research Interest
Louise is currently undertaking a PhD exploring empowerment in Irish epilepsy services. She is also involved in a funded HSE project: An Exploration of Mental Health Care Provision for People with Epilepsy using Experience Based Co-Design.
