Biography
Tom Boland received his Ph.D from UCC in 2006. His research specialisations are the sociology of critique and the experience and government of unemployment. He is currently researching the experience and narration of jobseeking and the cultural constitution of the labour market, and writing about the genealogy and discursive construction of critique. He is co-director with colleagues of the Centre for the Study of the Moral Foundations of Economy & Society. With Ray Griffin, he is director of the Economy and Society Summer School, launched in 2015 by the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins.
