Biography

Dr. Shaul Orit is affiliated to the department of Microbiology and Virology, Bar Ilan University, where Dr. Shaul Orit is currently working as Senior Lecturer. Dr. Shaul Orit has authored and co-authored several national and international publications and also working as a reviewer for reputed professional journals. Dr. Shaul Orit is having an active association with different societies and academies around the world. Dr. Shaul Orit made his mark in the scientific community with the contributions and widely recognition from honourable subject experts around the world. Dr. Shaul Orit has received several awards for the contributions to the scientific community. Dr. Shaul Orit major research interest involves The first is magnesium transport in plants, a subject about which relatively little is known. We cloned and characterized the Arabidopsis thaliana MHX transporter (AtMHX), which is the first exchanger of protons (H+) with magnesium (Mg2+) ions that had been cloned from any organism. This transporter is localized in the vacuolar membrane and can carry Mg2+ and Zn2+ ions into the plant vacuole. The vacuole is a key organelle in the maintenance of metal and proton homeostasis in plants. We investigate the function, phylogenetics, and regulation of expression of plant MHX transporters.
