Biography

I am a Research Staff Member at the Information Retrieval Solutions group at IBM HRL. I received my PhD degree in information and computer sciences from the University of California at Irvine in 2009 under the supervision of Prof. Chen Li. The aim of my research is text analytics and user profiling. I focus on the uses of text analytics techniques in order to better understand and enrich the user profile. This includes research in the domain of Affective Computing in order to get a deep cognitive understanding of the users. I led and developed methods and algorithms for generating user profiling and trends analytic on top of a scalable distributed platform (Hadoop, Jaql), that were used in the Telco domain.
