Biography
Budney is a retired energy industry veteran, lead director of natural gas and electricity supplier Integrys Energy Group’s board of directors and former president of Niagara Mohawk Holdings. He earned a bachelor of science in engineering in 1968 from Princeton University and a master of business administration from Harvard Business School in 1974. From 1968 to 1972, he served as an officer in the Nuclear Submarine Force for the U.S. Navy. Throughout his storied career, Budney gained extensive experience in corporate management and development, serving on numerous boards. Budney joined Niagara Mohawk Holdings where he served as President and Director until his retirement in 2002.
Research Interest
Budney is a supporter of several nonprofit organizations, including the United Way of Central New York, Canada-U.S. BorderNet Alliance, Cazenovia College and the Syracuse Opera. ​
