Dr. Yuli Starosvetsky is currently affiliated to Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Israel, continuing research in the specialized scientific area of Mechanical Engineering.

Research Interest

Nonlinear dynamics and vibrations, bifurcations and nonlinear waves in smooth and non-smooth, an-harmonic lattices and highly degenerate dynamical systems Regular and stochastic dynamics of granular media, nonlinear wave phenomena in 1D, 2D, 3D periodic and non-periodic granular crystals, passive control of energy flow through the granular material Development of passive nonlinear strategies for localization, entrapment, mitigation and channeling of propagating shock waves in solid media Wave propagation in multi-layered composite systems, with repetitive structures, ordered/disordered structural defects and discontinuities
