Danit Ein-gar

Biography

I completed my BA, MBA and PhD at the Hebrew university, Jerusalem, Israel. I did my post-doc at Stanford. Since then I am a faculty member at the marketing department of Coller School of Management. Currently I am on Sabbatical at Hass School of Business, University of California, Berkeley USA. My research mainly focuses on the juncture of personality and contextual circumstances and their joint influence on consumption and pro-social behavior. I am particularly interested in behavior that is beneficial from an individual standpoint and from a societal standpoint. Within this general framework I am pursuing three research avenues: Self-control (such as non-impulsive purchases, consumption of virtue products, commitment to virtuous behaviors, task persistence); Pro-sociality (such as donations of money and volunteerism); and Information processing (such as how cognitive processing influences judgments and task performance).
