Biography

Dr Gallagher is a Research Fellow in the Department of Civil, Structural & Environmental Engineering in Trinity College Dublin. He has worked on European funded projects (Interreg, Horizon2020 and Erasmuss+) as a member of staff in Trinity College Dublin and Bangor University. He has a background in civil and environmental engineering with two primary research areas of expertise: (i) low cost and low carbon energy systems i.e. ecodesign and circular economy approach to construction of building structures and renewable technologies; (ii) urban environment and passive pollution barriers e.g. mitigation of urban air and noise pollution, indoor-outdoor interactions and the role of urban planning. He also has previous engineering experience working with local authorities, national/international engineering firms and research collaborations with a range of water companies, SMEs and charity organisations.
