Biography
Robert Adrian has 24 years of experience in the financial services industry in various roles spanning institutional trading, risk management and proprietary/hedge fund trading. His Wall Street career began in 1983 as an institutional position trader on Smith Barney's Listed Equity Trading desk. In 1987 he was promoted to Managing Director, and in 1993 he became head of the Listed Equity desk, maintaining that role for five years. In 1998 Mr. Adrian was tasked with architecting and developing the Global Equity Risk Management group for Salomon/Smith Barney. The focus of this role encompassed risk monitoring and capital commitment for all institutional equity products around the world, including the Listed, NASDAQ, Derivatives, Convertibles, Program Trading, and Equity Capital Markets businesses. This risk management responsibility involved direct communication with the head of the Global Corporate and Investment Bank (GCIB) as well as the co-heads of the Equity Division. In 2004 Mr. Adrian assumed responsibility for building and managing a long/short proprietary fund within Citigroup's Equity Division. He left Citigroup in June of 2007, and is currently a managing partner of CapRio Management LLC, a New York based investment advisory firm. Mr. Adrian has also held various advisory positions on a number of boards, including the NYSE Market Performance Committee, the NYSE Allocation Committee and Brown University's Endowment Campaign Committee. Robert Adrian holds a degree in Mathematical Economics from Brown University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1982.
