Biography
I graduated in Biological Sciences at the “Università degli Studi” of Milan (Italy) in 2002. In 2006, I obtained a Speciality in Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Milan and in 2015 a PhD in Bioengineering at Politecnico di Milan, Italy. Actually, I’m Associate Scientist at Accelera Srl (Nerviano, MI, Italy). I’m in charge of conducting and supervising GLP/non-GLP in vivo (pharmacokinetics, mass balance, tissue distributions (ADME)) and in vitro studies with cold and labeled compound. I have 2 years experience as a Research Associate at the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI, University of Miami, FL, USA). In USA, I learned to work with a team of person with different background (engineering, pharmacologist, medical doctor) with the aim to solve different aspect of diabetes management and cure. My studies led to a successful localized immunosuppression in a prevascularized device in a model of islet transplantation in rodent. Thanks to this experience I learned how to interface with business industry (how to follow ethical and legal guidelines and follow standardized laboratories procedures) and patent process. During all my research experience, I have been responsible for planning, organizing and directing preclinical animal studies on developmental drugs (inflammation, immunology and cancer therapeutic areas). I was involved in designing the experimental model and follow all the procedures for drafting the MTA between the company and the Hospital. I have also over 3 years experience in working under the procedures of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), thank to my internship at the Cell therapy Laboratory of the San Raffaele Scientific Hospital. This experience led me the possibility to continually have an interface with a more clinical point of view and interaction with a business plan.
