Luisa Bartorelli

Biography

Italian (born 1972), Chief Patent Counsel. She deals with the IP portfolio of the group since the beginning in 1999, at first inside the company and then as a consultant in an outside IP law firm. She again joined the group in 2014 as in-house IP counsel, and since September 2015 she is the Chief Patent Counsel. She is an Italian Patent Agent and European Patent Attorney admitted before the UIBM, EPO, WIPO UAMI (design and models). She graduated in pharmacy, at the University of Milan in 1998 (Italy). She began her career in 1998 with Bianchetti Bracco Minoja (IP firm), working on strategies of drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications in the field of chemistry, pharmacy and biology including evaluation of the prior art. From 1999 to 2003 she worked in Cosmo SpA dealing with the intellectual property portfolio of the company in cooperation with the external IP law firm. From 2003 to 2015 she worked in Dragotti & Associati (IP firm) becoming partner of the firm in 2013. She worked in the life science department of the firm, managing the intellectual property portfolio of several clients in the field of pharmacy, chemistry, biotechnology and biology including evaluations of prior art, drafting and filing of patent applications, foreign prosecution procedures and strategies, patentability and freedom-to-operate opinions, due diligences, litigations and legal advices.
