Biography
Michael Bergamini has been with Nicox since 2014. Dr. Bergamini has served as an adjunct professor of pharmacology and neuroscience at the University of North Texas Health Science Center since 1996, where he has also served as an executive‑in‑residence in technology transfer and commercialization, as a senior research analyst, and as the director of clinical trials. From 1997 to 2009, he held several senior positions with Alcon Research Ltd., including vice president, pharmaceutical development and glaucoma development, and senior director, therapeutic research. Prior to its acquisition by Alcon, Dr. Bergamini was managing director of the research and development center for Laboratorios Cusí, S.A., He served in various managerial roles at Allergan Pharmaceuticals, Inc., The Liposome Company, Inc., and SOLA/Barnes‑Hind, Inc. He also served as an adjunct assistant professor in ophthalmology at Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Bergamini has over 30 years of experience in the eye care industry and is the author of 35 peer‑reviewed publications. Dr. Bergamini received a B.S. in Biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences—Pharmacology from the City University of New York.
