Geoff Townsend

Biography

In the past, Dr. Townsend was Research Associate and focused primarily on the challenges of water management in Heavy Industry. Geoff has worked in the university before starting his career in industrial water management at Calgon Corporation in 1991. He has held several positions in sales, marketing and technical management and in 1999 became Technical Director for Nalco in EAME . Dr. Townsend has gained considerable experience in designing, optimizing and identifying and troubleshooting many key utility processes in a wide range of industries, including energy production and petrochemicals production. Over the years he has participated in various committees and has attended numerous international scientific meetings. Dr. Townsend is actively involved in a large number of initiatives in favor of Ecolab sustainability, particularly in the water management and water-energy-food relationship, which have made it an important promoter of this message in numerous conferences including the United Nations Environment Program, the World Forum, the B4E, the European Commission and business training sessions.
