Biography
Didier Houssin is a prof. of surgery and liver transplant specialist at Paris-Descartes University since 1988. He served as head of surgery at Paris's Cochin Hospital, CEO of the French transplant agency, medical policy Director at the Greater Paris University Hospitals, vice-president of Paris-Descartes University and, from 2005 to 2011, inter-ministerial delegate for pandemic influenza preparedness and Director General for health at the French Ministry of Health. Currently, he is a medical advisor to the Greater Paris University Hospitals. From 2013 to 2016, Didier Houssin chaired the Management Board of ANSES, the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety. From 2011 to 2015, he was the CEO of the French Agency for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (AERES, then HCERES). He is also member of the Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Framework Agreement Advisory Group of the WHO and, in 2015 and 2016, he was chair of the Review Committee on the Role of the International Health Regulations in the Didier Houssin is a prof. of surgery and liver transplant specialist at Paris-Descartes University since 1988.
