Biography
Péter BOKOR studied business and economics in Budapest and joined the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture in 1996 to work on the accession to the EU. After several posts of increasing responsibility – mainly in the area of EU-related institution building and rural development – he continued his professional career at the European Commission (since February 2007), to lead the unit in charge of the rural development programmes of Austria, Germany and Slovenia in DG AGRI. Over the past five years, Péter BOKOR headed the DG AGRI's central unit coordinating the procedures for adoption of legal acts, Better Regulation, comitology, expert group and civil dialogue group meetings. In September 2017, he was appointed Head of Unit D1 (Science, Stakeholders, Enforcement and Better Training for Safer Food) in DG SANTE.
