Biography
Dr. Zita Čeponytė is the President of the Lithuanian Consumer Institute and she deals with issues related to consumer protection since more than 20 years. She is the author of publications (books, articles) on food safety and quality, worked as food safety expert in a number of countries such as Belarus, Montenegro and Moldova. Dr. Čeponytė is one of four EFSA Board members with a background in organisations representing consumers. She is a former Deputy Chancellor of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania responsible for consumer protection and reform of official food safety control in the country.
