Michael Chanatry

Biography

Michael Chanatry is the vice president, global supply chain for GE Power. In this role he leads all demand planning, investment management, global sourcing, and manufacturing operations covering 30 plants across 13 countries.  Prior to Mike’s  VP role with the Gas Power Systems business,  he served as general manager, supply chain for GE Appliances from 2013 to 2015,  where he was responsible for rebuilding manufacturing capability to enable product reshoring across 10 GE US plants employing over 8000 people.  From 2009 to 2013, he served as general manager for GE Aviation’s supply chain for electronic products, consisting of 14 plants globally. Mike has more than 32 years of experience with GE covering global sourcing, plant operations, program management, and business P&L leadership assignments. Mike began his career with GE’s Aerospace business in Utica, N.Y., in 1983 as a procurement agent. He worked his way up through the sourcing chain in various key assignments from 1987 through 1992, and was instrumental in developing the consolidated procurement centers that are utilized today in divisions of Lockheed Martin (formerly GE Aerospace). Prior to joining GE Aerospace in 1983, Mike served as the commissioner of finance for Oneida County Offices of New York. Mike graduated from Niagara University in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in business management and later attended Utica College of Syracuse University, where he completed studies as a member of the American Management Association in 1987.
