Biography
Advanced trainings in medicine and cellular neurobiology, and a main research background in molecular genetics and biology. I devoted many years in studying: 1) the biology of the neurotrophins, with an emphasis on their role in the immunological ageing, diabetes, and their potential pharmacological applications in myocardial stroke, oftalmic diseases and transplantation; 2) the molecular pathways underlying neoplastic transformation in Multiple Mieloma, with an emphasis on the onset of new survival autocrine circuites; 3) the molecular pathways underlying the DNA repair process in post-mitotic neurons and the genome expression profile in apoptotic neurons.
