Research Interest
From 2006 to the present, she is interested in the effects of Cross Linking on corneal biomechanics, corneal hysterectomy and corneal tissue resistance measured by instruments such as Ocular Response Analyzer and Corvis. It is also collecting long-term safety data and the long-term effects of Cross Linking on topography and corneal aberrometry in patients with keratoconus, degenerative marginal degeneration and post-refractive ectasia. From 2003 to 2005, he concentrated his studies on the molecular mechanisms underlying corneal neovascularization at the Department of Ophthalmology of the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, led by Prof. Dimitri Azar. Always within the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, he attended the Schepens Eye Research Institute where he learned the following techniques: proteomic analysis, immunohistochemistry, Western Blot, RNA extraction, confocal microscopy and epifluorescence, cell cultures, gene transfection mechanisms and animal models. From 2000 to 2004, he studied instrumental aspects of early diagnosis of glaucomatous disease by means of Heidelberg Retinal Tomograph and GDx, studying reproducibility in evaluating the optic nerve with HRT, and contributing to the publication of scientific papers on reproducibility in the measurement of corneal thickness with ultrasound pachymetry,
