Biography
Barbara Jereczek European Institute of Oncology and University of Milan, Italy Barbara Jereczek is the senior vice director of the Division of Radiotherapy at IEO and an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Milan. She completed a medical degree and PhD from the University of Gdansk and then went on to specialize in Radiation Oncology at the University of Milan. She joined the IEO in 1997 and her main research interests have focused on the following topics: urological malignancies, head and neck cancers, new fractionation protocols, new radiotherapy approaches (stereotactic radiotherapy, IMRT, IGRT etc.), treatment accuracy, side effects and patient's quality of life, combined modality approach (including organ preservation studies) and new prognostic and predictive factors. Dr Jereczek is the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships and is a member of many national and European radiation oncology societies. She is the author of 111 full papers and 4 book chapters and speaks regularly at international conferences.
