Biography
Professor De Cobelli performs surgical and clinical activity at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan, mainly dealing with the urological cancer treatment: prostate, bladder, kidney, testicle and penis.He has performed more than 3,000 surgeries as a leading operator since 1998. In the last five years he has devoted to the development of Robot Assisted Laparoscopic Surgery in Urology, with particular interest in the neoplastic prostate, performing as leading operator more than 850 interventions of radical prostatectomy. Since January 1998 he is Director of the Urology Division at the IEO. Prof. De Cobelli also organizes courses accredited by ECM and manages multidisciplinary meetings between different divisions. He has carried out an activity of "perceptoring and proctoring" in robotic surgery in many Italian cities and foreign countries. The results of the teaching processes were presented on international levels. Currently, Ottavio De Cobelli is a member of large number of urological societies, including Italian Society of Urology, Italian Society of Urological Oncology and European Association of Urology.
