Biography
Bruno Mattle (1965) studied civil engineering at the University of Innsbruck. In 1994 after two years of scientific/research work, he began his career with ILF. There he had the opportunity to gain extensive experience with large-scale projects such as the Gotthard Base Tunnel as well as several high-speed railway lines of Deutsche Bahn. In 2001, Bruno Mattle moved to the USA, where he was in charge of managing a tunneling project underneath the access area of Dulles airport. Beginning in 2004, he ran his own engineering office focusing on structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, and civil engineering. He became managing director of the Austrian ILF company in 2009 and Group Director of Transport & Structures in 2012. In this role, he is responsible for coordinating all activities of this main business area around the globe. Bruno Mattle is married and has three children. In addition to cycling and various winter sports activities, Bruno Mattle loves to cook with and for his family of five.
