Biography
Born in Florence on January 10, 1955; graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Florence, specialist in Oncologic Radiotherapy since 1984. He has worked in the field of medical care services in the territory from 1980 to 1988. He has been Radiologist Outpatient Radiology Specialist from 1987 to 1989. Since 1989 he has always worked as an oncologic radiotherapy specialist at Pistoia Hospital, Careggi Hospital in Florence, and finally the IRCCS National Cancer Institute. From 1990 to 1998 he was responsible for the service of Oncology Day Hospital at the Radiotherapy of the Careggi Hospital. From 2001 until today he has been the director of SC Radiotherapy 2 (RT2) at the National Cancer Institute, Milan. He currently deals primarily with head and neck tumors, HDR brachytherapy of prostate, encephalopathy and body (extracranial bodies), and is associated with gynecological cancer therapy.
Research Interest
Research interest in IMPACTOX III: Phase III, multicentre, double blind randomized study to evaluate the effects of a placebo-modulating oral immunomodulatory solution in the prevention of acute severe mucositis in patients with first airway and digestive (VAD) tumors and treated with concomitant chemotherapy radio.
