Biography

Since February 2016 Associate Professor at the Department of Oncology and Emato-Oncology of the University of Milan. Since February 2011 Director of Oncology Radiotherapy 1 of the IRCCS Foundation, National Institute of Tumors of Milan. Since 2003 Director of the Prostate Program of the IRCCS Foundation The National Institute of Tumors of Milan, special project of the Scientific Directorate, modeled according to the American example of the Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE), excellence research programs focused on a specific oncology pathology . Born in Borgo Valsugana in 1953, graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Bologna in 1979, specializing in Oncological Radiotherapy at the University of Padua in 1984. He spent several periods at the Clinical Medical School in Oxford (UK) University of Medicine of Stanford (USA), Utah University of Salt Lake City (USA), University of California of San Francisco (USA), Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where he has done research in the field oncology.

Research Interest

Research interest in psychology and psycho-oncology, he attended the Psychoanalytic Training School "The Therapeutic Role" of Milan. Since 1993 he has been a member of the Psychologists and Psychotherapists' Association and has been working on permanent training at the psychoanalytic therapy center "The Therapeutic Role".
