Biography

The Medical Genetics Service, originally founded in 1995 as the FIRC Research Project "Inherent Tumors" has become part of the institutional activity over the years and since May 2007, the service has been configured as a simple departmental department within the Department of Medicine Predictive and Preventive, with both clinical and scientific relevance.

Research Interest

The availability of clinical and molecular data of a population of individuals with increased genetic risk of breast and ovarian cancer (which accounts for about one-third of the total national caseload) is an essential element for the study of the effectiveness of diagnostic programs premature and possible preventive strategies, as well as the characteristics of the expected tumors, possible genetic and environmental risk modifiers, and new predisposing genes.
