Pat Yang, Ph.d.

Biography

  Pat Yang is our Executive Vice President, Senior Advisor to the CEO. Most recently, Dr. Yang has been an independent consultant to companies. Until 2013, he served in a number of roles in industry with Roche, Genentech, Merck & Co., General Electric, and Life Systems. In his most recent industry role at Roche, he was Executive Vice President and Head of Global Technical Operations, responsible for the company’s pharmaceutical manufacturing, process development, engineering, quality, technical regulatory, supply chain, and procurement.  He has significant experience with pharmaceuticals and biotechnology manufacturing, engineering, technology and supply chain management. At Merck, he led worldwide materials management, planning, global procurement, distribution and logistics, management engineering, third-party manufacturing, automation and manufacturing support functions for the company’s manufacturing plants around the globe. Dr. Yang earned a B.S. in engineering from the National Chiaotung University in Taiwan, an M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and a Ph.D. in engineering from the Ohio State University.
