Agosti Gianfranco

Biography

Gianfranco Agosti got his M.Phil. in Grammatica Greca e Latina at the Univ. of Flo rence (1990) , where he obtanined his PhD in Greek and Latin Philology (1995). He was appointed as FEllow of the Center for Hellenic Studies (Washington DC) in 1995 - 1996; he received a grant from the Fondation Hardt in 1993; he was appointed as Assegnista di ricerca in papyrology at the Univ. of Messina (2001 - 2005), as Chercheur Associé Étranger at the CNRS – UMR 7044, Université de Strasbourg (2006); as Directeur d’étude invité , Université de Paris IV - Sorbonne, EPHE (2008 ). He was visiting professor at Paris IV - Sorbonne (2012) ; at the Université Laval (Quebec, 201 5 ); at the Scuola Galileian in Padova (2105), at t he Scuola Superiore of the University of C a tania (2015); at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa (2016) . He was Member of the Institute of A dvanced Studies (Princeton, 2016 ) . He taught from 1998 to 2001 and from 2005 to 2008 as full professor of Greek and Latin in High Sch ools in Florence. From 2004 to 2010 he taught Classical Philology at the University of Siena - Arezzo; he became Researcher of Classica l Philolology at the University of Udine at the end of 2008, and from the end of 201 1 he is researcher at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. He is qualifié as Full Professor of Greek in France(8 ème section), and habilitated as Full Professor in Greek Literature and in Classical and Late Antique Philology.
