Biography
Dr. Anna Rita Campanelli graduated in Chemistry at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 1978 and since 1981 has been employed as Researcher at the same University in the Department of Chemistry. She started her research activity working on the molecular packing determination of biologically relevant substances such as bile salts using the single crystal x-ray diffraction technique. More recently she developed an interest in the accurate molecular structure determination of benzene derivatives by means of gas-phase electron diffraction and quantum chemical calculations. Her research interests include the study of substituent effects, such as electronegativity, resonance, field, and steric effects, performed in model substrates where the benzene ring acts as a probe. During the past few years her teaching activity has been in the field of General Chemistry and Physical Chemistry (mainly Molecular Spectroscopy and Environmental Physical Chemistry).
