Biography
Marianna Villano is Assistant Professor (temporary position) of Chemical Engineering at the Department of Chemistry of Sapienza University of Rome. She got a master of science (summa cum laude) in Industrial Chemistry in 2007 at Sapienza University of Rome, with a thesis dealing with the influence of pH on the bioproduction of polyhydroxyalkanoates from organic acids in sequencing batch reactors. In 2011 she earned a PhD in Industrial Chemical Processes from the same University with a thesis on the "Microbially catalyzed production of hydrogen and methane in bioelectrochemical systems". In 2010 she spent six months at the "Department of Biological and Environmental Engineering (BEE)" of Cornell University (Ithaca, USA) as visiting student. She is co-author of about 20 publications in international peer-review journal articles and book chapter and about 30 invited and contributed conference papers .
