Andrea Borgh

Biography

 Andrea Borgh was born in Siracusa on the 8th February 1980, joined the military high naval school "F.Morosini" in Venezia (1998), graduate from the Naval Academy with the rank of ensign in 2003. He has attended the US flight school, becoming a Naval Aviator in 2005. His main assignments were: Flight commander on EH-101 on board ITS Garibaldi, ITS Etna, ITS Doria and ITS Duilio, participating on anti-piracy operations in the Horn of Africa and Somalia (2010-2011) and intervention in Lybia (2011). Commanding Officer (ITS Ticino - 2012/2013); Flag lieutenant to the Commander Italian Navy Front Line Forces and Commander Italian Maritime Force (NATO), 2013-2014, and Flag lieutenant to the Commander of the 30th Naval Group for the naval campaign "A country on the move" across the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the Indian Ocean and the Arabic Gulf, ending with the circumnavigation of Africa. On december 2014 took part to the reascue operations of the passengers of the Norman Atlantic airlifting hundreds of people from the burning ship. On 2015 took part as Helicopter Coordinator under the force commander to the operation Mare Sicuro in the central Mediterranean Sea. He is married and has a doughter. He speaks English.
