Biography
Dr. Norland provides national leadership for forest resource management, forest sustainability, and agroforestry research and extension programs; the Renewable Resources Extension Act (RREA) Program which provides funding to 73 land-grant institutions for extension forest and rangeland resources programs; and the national network of Extension Forestry Program Leaders, Specialists, and Educators. He is the NIFA liaison to the USDA National Agroforestry Center, USDA Forest Service-Cooperative Forestry, National Association of Conservation Districts - Forestry Resource Policy Group; and National Association of University Forest Resources Programs. He serves as the NIFA State Liaison to the land-grant universities in Tennessee and to several multi-state and regional committees.
