Biography
ono is a technologist and works at the IAMC (UOD in Mazara del Vallo) where he is responsible for the activity module on research into new technologies to support fisheries quality and sustainability of fishing activities (AG.P04.006.003). He is also responsible for a project on the search for alternative methods to the use of sodium metabisulphite to counter blackening or "melanosis" in deep precious crustaceans. Biologist since 1991, has devoted more than 10 years of his professional career to the marine environment, with particular regard to national and European monitoring projects with trawl-surveys and catch-effort surveys of demersal stocks in the Mediterranean. From 2003 to 2005 he led a working group that developed a semiautomatic application for fish labeling that could minimize the risk of sensitive data reallocation. He is co-author of over 60 papers between scientific articles, communications to workshops, congresses and technical reports.
