Biography
Andrea Remuzzi, Eng. D. 1979: Biol.Sci.D. degree, University of Milan, Italy. 1984: IRCCS-IRFMN, Bergamo, Italy. 1982-84: Visiting Scientist, Mechanical Engineering Department , Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA (USA). 2007 to present: Coordinator of Research Programs, Department of Biomedical Engineering, IRCCS-Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri, Bergamo.
Research Interest
Five main areas are the object of the research of the Department: 1) The study of the pathophysiological mechanisms involved in the progression of renal disease; 2) The study of hemodynamics in the development of vascular damage; 3) The development of laboratory techniques for the engineering of tissues and organs; 4) The development of 3D cell culture systems for the study of the toxicity of aero dispersed particulate; 5) The development of information systems for the management of clinical data and images generated in the context of controlled clinical trials and in clinical practice.
