Biography
Roberto Latini, M.D. had received his Medical Doctor degree in 1978 at the University of Milano and Postdoctoral degree in Pharmacological Research from the “Mario Negri” Institute. Since 1973 he has been Researcher at the Laboratory of Clinical Pharmacology of “Mario Negri” Institute. From 1981 to 1983 Fellow in Cardiology, Stanford University Medical Center, CA, USA. He is member of Steering Committees of several multicenter clinical trials and since march 2013 he is Director of the Department of Cardiovascular Research, at the “Mario Negri” Institute. He has authored more than 300 scientific publications in peer-reviewed International scientific journals.
Research Interest
Roberto Latini have different research activities covering from preclinical to clinical research. • Cardiac arrest and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in experimental models (rat and pig) to evaluate the inflammatory response and organ damage together with protective treatments. • Evaluation of circulating biomarkers in multicenter clinical trials in various diseases. • The collaboration with a large network of General Practitioners in the area of cardiovascular prevention allowed to test new hypotheses through large scale clinical trials and to evaluate the actual transferability of evidence based interventions in the everyday practice through epidemiological or outcome research studies. • Pharmaco-epidemiological studies through the analysis of large linkable administrative database are also performed. • Clinical monitoring of mostly non-profit clinical trials with certified monitors and online submission to Eudravigilance safety reports.
