Research Interest
His scientific interests range from basic to translational research regarding musculoskeletal diseases and orthopaedic surgery. After graduation he became interested in various aspects of general surgery and experimental models. For his particular interest in biomedical research, he deepened most of the biostatistic approaches and statistical analysis tests.He has been progressively involved in the field of biomaterials for medical devices conceived for orthopedic use and in the evaluation of their biocompatibility with a particular attention to implant osseointegration.He has performed research on osteoporosis, osteoarthritis and on adjuvant therapies for these degenerative pathologies. Recently he is interested in the regenerative medicine, especially in the evaluation of biological tissue response and into ultrastructural-morphometric changes induced by engineered devices, through experimental models developed with other researchers of the Laboratory for bone, joint and tendon diseases.
