Biography
My recent research areas focus on two main areas: interactions between farming systems, landscape and biodiversity with particular reference to mountainous areas, and applied ecology and wildlife management. The main themes in 2017-2018 are summarized below. Zootechnics, landscape and biodiversity :Sustainability of the mountain pasture:In this context, in collaboration with several colleagues from the DAFNAE Department, I am interested in various aspects of socio-economic, technical-productive and environmental (animal biodiversity) alpine sustainability. The areas concerned are Veneto and Trento, and the approaches followed vary from large-scale surveys on cartographic basis to more detailed surveys at individual production units ;Animal husbandry and environment systems:It includes several studies, also in the framework of more articulated projects in collaboration with DAFNAE colleagues, relating to the evaluation of the ecological footprint of the LCA farms, considering also the aspects of the diversity of soil uses and the classification of "High Natural Value Farmland ". I also personally care about the relationships between mountain animal husbandry and productive, regulating, habitat conservation and aesthetic-recreational landscapes.
