Antonio Saitta

Biography

Born in Raddusa (Ct) on July 15, 1950, graduated in Political Sciences; married, father of Marilde University student, lives in Rivoli since leaving child Sicily together with her parents and brothers.  Di Rivoli has long been a public administrator, as a municipal councilor before and as mayor then from 1988 to 1995. He has a long administrative experience: he was counselor and parent of the Christian Democracy of the Province of Turin from 1985 to 1990. In 1995 he was elected regional councilor in the files of the Popular Party, re-elected for Margherita in 2000 for a second mandate, interrupted in the summer of 2004 with the election as an exponent of the Democratic Party as President of the Province of Turin, mandated then renewed 2009 until the appointment in the Regional Council of Piedmont.  Since 2007 he has been the Grand Officer of the Italian Republic on the appointment of the President of the Republic.  Since 2012 he has held the post of Chairman of the Italian Province Union (Upi). In defining his political commitment, he likes to recall a quotation from the book of Siracide (180 BC): "The artist admits the work, the politician is the wisdom of the proposal. But if he speaks in a slander is a threat to the city, if it says incongruous things you hate
